The best price on a New Zealand Combination hunt anywhere!

This is a fabulous deal on a big 3 Trophy hunt in New Zealand. The hunts will take place on New Zealand’s South Island.

I have booked multiple clients here in the past and the hunts all went well, and the hunters left for home having taken wonderful trophies. This is the best deal I know of in New Zealand with a great outfitter and is sure to sell out each year. The outfitter only takes one group at a time, the season is limited, and you don’t want to miss this deal! Every hunter should make a trip to New Zealand to shoot some of the most revered mountain animals in the world. The scenery is stunning, the country is safe, and it is a trip you will remember.

The New Zealand Big 3 Hunting Areas

The Red Stag hunts and the Fallow Deer hunts will take place on the outfitter’s estate and the Tahr hunt will occur on private property that the outfitter has access to.

This hunt for Himalayan Tahr will take place on a private free-range farm located 2 hours from Christchurch on the other side of New Zealand’s South Island near the town of Geraldine.

The terrain is hill country with forested areas. Lush vegetation ranges from knee-high to in excess of head-high. There are also grassy areas and cliffs.

Trophy Hunting Methods

Red Stag Hunting Methods

The red stag will be hunted on foot on the outfitter’s estate. There are plenty of red stags present and you will be sure to find one in the size range that you are targeting.

Fallow Deer Hunting Methods

You will eat breakfast at the lodge, and then venture out either by vehicle or on foot looking for a good Fallow deer trophy. Once a good trophy is spotted, a stalk will be made to get you into a good shooting position.  Most people are capable of making this stalk, as this is not your typical above-the-tree line vertical chamois hunting.

If the hunt is done with an optional helicopter, you will drive to the helicopter base (1.5 hrs.) and meet the helicopter pilot and take off with the guide and fly up above the bush line until a trophy chamois is spotted.

Once you have shot the Fallow deer, the animal will be recovered and taken back to the skinning shed.

Then return to the lodge to clean up, have drinks, and eat lunch.

There are several good fallow deer on this property and the expected success rate for this portion of the hunt is 100%.

Himalayan Tahr Hunting Methods

This trophy Himalayan Tahr hunt will be done on a 3,000-acre estate near the town of Geraldine, using a combination of vehicle and foot hunting. A vehicle will be used to get you to a departure point where you will exit the vehicle and begin the hunt on foot. A typical hunt will start with breakfast at the restaurant and then a 1-hour drive to the hunting area, where you will be driving slowly or hiking to an elevated position and then glassing to locate a suitable bull Tahr.

Once a suitable trophy Tahr is located, you will execute a stalk to get into a shooting position. There are lots of Tahr on this property including several good bulls. No helicopter is necessary. The hiking will be in hilly and mountainous terrain. You can expect to harvest your Tahr in 1 day of hunting.

Accommodations can be made for most physical abilities.

New Zealand Hunting Seasons

The New Zealand hunting season runs from February to July. If you are hunting the big 3, you should come later after the Red Stag roar is over, as the Tahr coats do not reach prime condition until mid-May onwards to late July.

The best time for this 3-animal combo is mid-May–through mid-July.

The New Zealand Big 3 Hunting Lodge

During your Hunt, you will stay at a 4-star lodge nestled in the mountains with a great view off the patio. The lodge has 3 client bedrooms, and a separate toilet and shower area. The food is excellent, and you have both TV, cell phone service, and internet at the lodge.

Additional Huntable Species

Chamois are available on this hunt as an add-on. You can add a Chamoisand make it a Big-4 Hunt by adding 2 hunting days and the Chamois Trophy Fee.

Arapawa Rams, wild goats, wild boar, and Merriam turkeys are also available on his estate. The vegetation in this area contains a mite that causes many of the turkey beards to rub off and appear negligible.

Estate elk are also available in another part of the island.
